Brad Brooks

When I first met Brad Brooks, owner of Consultechs CNC Machine Tool Service, we were at the Wide Open Bike Show in Kansas City 2007. Brad had entered in the bike show under another company name, which most of our read- know as Mystical Custom Creations, showing off his awesome one-off builds and we are talking builds that have proved themselves at many events such as; The Rat Hole Bike Shows, Choppers 4 Children Bike Shows, Wide Open Bike Shows and the list goes on. What I didn't realize at the time, was not only is Brad invited me down to his machine shop, a shop that his dad built in 1968, in 1996 Brad purchased the shop building that his dad had built in '68 and started designing and producing parts, along with servicing Mazak equipment. As Brad said, "Hence the name Consultechs." Con-sultechs's business continued to grow and in 2000 Brad decided to give up the repair side and focus on design and parts manufacturing. Consultechs is set up to do 1 piece to 50,000 piece runs and they offer their customers design and prototyping. Consultechs capabilities for design are phenomenal at best with Cad/Cam software such as Solid Works 3D Design and Cosmos Works, Grifo Bros Cad/Cam for Mazatrol, Auto Cad and Bob Cad/Cam. To back up quality design, Brad has added 13 CNC machines, 8 Mazak Lathes 3 of which come with live tooling, 4 Mazak Vertical mill machines, and 1 Mazak horizontal Mill machine, 1 Ercolina Numeric Tubing Bender, 1 EpilogLaser Lazer Engraver and to top it all off Consultechs has a Brown and Sharp CMM with Caliper Design 3D Software and reverse engineering capability. Consultech works with just about every material imagina-ble. If it can be machined, Consultechs can machine it. Consultechs is already producing hundreds and thousands of billet parts for the motorcycle, automotive market. What's next for Brad and Consultechs? | don't know but, I do know whatever it is it will be a winner!
